White as snow

It's still snowing in Oslo almost daily. Every morning, as I look out my window from the 8th floor and enjoy the quietness, I see the whole city covered in a thick blanket of snow - each scene more beautiful than the previous day. I couldn't see potholes, grass, rubbish or any dirt. Everywhere I looked was white, clean, unblemished snow. Simply beautiful.

One Saturday afternoon when Kang Wei and I was at the Holmenkollen ski jump area, the whole place is practically covered with thick blanket of snow. Every time the sunlight hits, the snow sparkles, like beautiful tiny diamonds all over. Even more beautiful when snowflakes fall on our faces, they were like sprinkles of tiny diamonds falling from the sky. It was indeed a marvelous sight and reminder of God’s awesome hand in Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV) - “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

"Ingen bur er store nok"

Was walking back to the hotel from City Kirken church on Sunday evening and this poster caught my attention. I couldn't understand a thing so I've decided to snap a photo and visit the website.

"Ingen bur er store nok" means No cage is big enough. You guys should check out this website and stop wearing furcoat: www.forbypels.no

Dog in a box

This was taken in sometime in January 2011 when we had to pack our essential items for this Oslo trip.
Leone just loves jumping into boxes and get himself all comfy and warm inside. It's as if he was trying to tell us, "Can you bring me along, daddy and mummy?"
Sigh... wished we could, but looking at the strict regulations and requirements, and no pets are allowed to travel by flight in February because it's still winter season (something to do with the temperature control in the cabin area). Plus, we are not sure if he is able to withstand the 16-hour long flight. It was a tough decision for us, really.

View from the 8th floor

It feels great to be looking at this beautiful scenery from our hotel room everyday. Simply breathtaking. It finally stopped snowing for the past two days, but the city is still covered in snow.

On a separate note, am missing this little fur-ball of ours everyday. Wished he was here playing with snow, and pee-ing on the snow. Now, that would've been a great experience for him!
We shaved him [yup, we personally shaved him!] just before bringing him back to Kuantan on 2 February, 2011 (Wednesday).
Doesn't he look like a little puppy again? :)
[mind you, he's actually four and a half years old now!]

Manja-fied look as always. He just loves belly rubs!! :)

OK... just staring at this photos is definitely making us miss him more. Hang in there, Leone boy~ We will be back very soon before you know it! :)

Transit at Schiphol Airport

We left Malaysia at 11.45pm (7 Feb 2011, Mon), and reached Schiphol airport at 6am (8 Feb 2011, Tuesday). The flight was about 14 hours. T'was a long journey, but praise God we flew by KLM business class (our first time! :) photos here: our seats & toiletry pack) and the seat could be reclined to a bed position. :)
